Thursday November 5, 2009 at the army base Foot Hood in Texas an army psychiatrist who was about to be deployed overseas went on a rampage killing 12 of his own troops and wounded 31 other people. The gunman, who was later identified as Major Nidal Malik Hasan was killed by police forces and military officers.
This 39 year old was promoted in May and previously worked at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, was about to be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan but instead he attacked the soldiers that would also go there to war with him. As he and several other soldier's went to the last medical check up before being deployed he pulled out two hand guns and opened fire. There was more than one shooter, two other solder's were initially taken into custody, but later let go later that night.
I felt so bad for the fallen soldiers and the wounded that are in the hospital trying to make a full recovery, but they wont make a complete recovery knowing that they were attacked by a fellow soldier on there own base. Also I think that Mr. Hasan did not agree with having to go across seas to fight so, he must of thought he could get out by death. And this makes me sick because he is not the only person going to war. He should of thought about the family's that would have to suffer even more knowing their son, daughter, wife, or husband was getting attacked on an American base were it should be safe.
This article from New York Times really upset me cause i know people in the army and some are just about to leave. For example my Brother in law is going to be sent over seas in a month and hes nervous already about going, and then seeing this crime that's all over the news I bet scared him more knowing he could be attacked on American soil by fellow troops. So this week is my way of showing how i felt about this crime that happened in Foot Hood, Texas base. President Obama even said " My immediate thoughts and prayers are with the wounded and with the families of the fallen". This was such a major event that our president even said a few words.

Woman in Loveland was found dead in her home but questions have begun to start up.
This article from www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_13511166?source=rss is about a family were there is A husband and a wife with a young son but then goes bad. A 33-year-old woman whose neighbors said was pregnant was found dead in her Loveland home Tuesday. Wednesday, the Larimer County coroner's office identified the woman as Kelly Burgess. The coroner's office said the manner and cause of death were pending investigation, toxicology results and review of microscopic slides.
Also the weird thing is that the neighbor Josh Daniel went into there house because he thought something was wrong and as he walked in he saw Brandon Burgess on the floor crying his eyes Out. And then in the garage there was the body of Kelly Burgess on the floor, where it looked like she had been shot in the head. That shocked me because if something that bad happened I would be wondering did the husband kill Kelly or did she kill her self.
It reminded me of the story we just read in class “The Cast of Amontillado” by Edgar Allen Poe how he made this story so creepy and how he kept every thing so secretly for so long. This article just stunned me, and were the younger son of there’s its like he is gone as well or he could be at school. So I just find this a little strange how the husband was just crying and not trying to get help from neighbors, for crying out loud the neighbor had to come over and see if every thing was ok. I think i am going to keep following up on this post because I want to know what really happened.

Pikes Peaks llama in Danger!
For several weeks, a strange mysterious visitor has been haunting Pikes Peak, amusing the tourists and confounding efforts to catch it the train. Can you guess what the strange Mysterious visitor is to "Pikes Peak"? Well it’s a llama. The "lone llama of Pikes Peak," who species is normally from high in the Andes Mountains of South America, to the llama must believe that it’s just like home. Officials say that it’s healthy and has been eating fine, but lonely, even though it has token interest in a herd of bighorn sheep. I found it funny that a llama was all up 14,110 ft at Pikes Peak. because I was there last weekend and it was cold like jackets and every thing, and I had know clue that a llama has been walking around chasing the trains that go up and down the mountain. Also I felt sad because there’s just him and no other kind of his species, and how he’s joined a herd of bighorn sheep. But with winter coming there are some hungry animals out there like mountain lions coyotes but there is a plan to find out how to capture the animal. A rescue teams said that they will also put the animal back to were it came from and to a herd of its own kind. I was thinking that "how could they know were the llama is at all times, do they just have someone watching it or do they just wait for it to come around again. Some llama lovers said that “there is a bigger threat than loneliness" and I totally agree for what they're saying if they don’t move the llama soon something will happen. But you never know because they can’t control the circle of life that’s what my dad always said to me when I was little. this article was really amazing on how far an animal will travel from were it normally comes from, and how the llama is just having fun and showing off to the people that visit "Pikes Peak National Park".

Teaching can be enhanced with New Technology, But how?
http://learningismessy.com/blog/?p=709
The Department of Educations states that our teachers could be enhanced with new technology. just by using digital content in every day classes, this program is being spread nation wide because it has been researched and has been proven to help teachers improve the learning time with there students. Arne Duncan said “we must take advantage of this historic opportunity to use American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to bring broadband access and online learning to more communities.”
The test showed that face-to-face instruction had a lager advantage relative to purely face to face instructions or instruction conducted wholly online. It also showed that online was more effective in improving a students achievement than a purely face to face. As I read that I thought this could really impact me as a student. Because I know how our school is trying to get more into technology for improving our achievement, for example for my English class we use triple E laptops to do all our personal learning net works, and our Google readers have all are information on them.
Also it would impact me by being able to get missed notes or homework and be able as well to print them off and the teachers would be able to show us how to do that so we don’t have an excuse for not turning in our home work. So this sort article just made me think how much my high school will improve with my teachers using digital uses for better learning towards students.

Education/09/17/09 Surge in Homeless Pupils Strains Schools
In Asheville, N.C. in a extremely small trailer her parents rented over the summer, 9-year old Charity Crowell picked out clothes for the first day of school. And she promised to work as hard as she could to get the C’s she had last spring up. But this all changed for her when her parents lost there jobs, house, and car now they are migrating through friends homes and motels just so she has some wear she could actually do home work and studies. This effects me as a reader because this girl never actually has a home to call home she made me fell how hard it would be to just how hard it truly must have been to do home work. I know for a fact that I would have an extremely hard time because instead of studying I would be worried on when we have to move again or what if we had no were else to go. I think my grades would fall at an extremely high rate if I was in her position. And in the article Charity said “it was extremely hard to go to sleep because I could always hear us moving place to place then the next day I nodded off in class some times”. This Article made me think how many others students might be going through this or some thing like it I probley have some one I know that has or had this going on while they were younger. So this really touched me as a reader it showed how much she had gone through just to get to school and and have a place to stay just like the other 679,000 homeless students.

African Union Base in Somalia Is Hit The New York Times - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia
Thursday in Somalia, some Somali insurgents did a suicide attack against the top Somali and African Union officials during a meeting to plan a major offensive in Mogadishu.
The Somali insurgents drove two highly explosives trucks deep into the base witch were marked on the side U.N., the base was near the airport also next to the base there was an American logistics office company. According to the article the Somali insurgents killed the seconded in commander of the African Union peacekeeping force and wounded several other commanders. The Somali insurgents were well informed of the base they had a map that showed every thing. At this web site I discovered how much this world hasn’t become peace full at all some were in the world there’s a war like the united states sending troops to Irag and Afghanistan.
As I was reading this article I realized that the Terri ousts are getting really good, and I was just wondering how could they get all this information? Also if this was going on in the United States my parent’s probley not allow me to go to school unless the security was extremely well organized, I am not saying that it’s safe right now because we already had tier oust attack our schools. I am just stating if it was every day like in Africa were some of those villages are being in the worst possible places as they have several Terri oust groups out there that will kill all of them if they wanted to.
This article made me angry and not so happy with our governments around the world they suppose to have order and be able to stop the groups of Terri oust but sending more troops like for this they have over 5,000 Somalia troops now protecting the transitional government in the mean time they could have them try and stop the groups so there’s some peace. This article makes me wonder how the children in Somalia would probley die just to be were I am today, and that hits me as a learner in so many ways it kills me that we cant help them as much as we should.

artical and video
During the artical and video it showed how much tecnolagey has inproved in over a amount of time. For example the video showed how our life is mostly using the computer and its resorse. Also i think that these two are able to tie in together because there about the same thing to me. Even though they have two diffrent points of veiw. On how we use the computer for most of every thing we do. The video also says that we use tecnologey more than our own parents. So the artical and video showes how much we use the internet and other resouces on the computer so by the time we are the age of our parents we would of used it twice as much as they ever did.
